Horn

Joshua Rosenbaum is a horn performer as well as teacher in the Dallas, Fort Worth Metroplex area.  Born and raised in El Paso, TX, Mr. Rosenbaum has had some amazing experiences thus far in his career as a horn player.  He has attended multiple Inter National Horn Symposiums, some of which he had the chance to play and perform for some of the worlds leading and world renowned horn players such as Dale Clevenger, Phil Myers, and Eric Ruske.  Some of Rosenbaum former and current teachers include David Heyde of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and currently studying with Gregory Hustis and Haley Hoops at the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU in Dallas, TX.

Gold Prize winner in the professional division of the Canadian International Music Competition, 1st Place winner of the Summer 2021 King’s Peak International Music Competition, and 2nd Place winner of the MAPIMC solo competition, Joshua Rosenbaum is a horn player from the Texas town of El Paso now residing in Dallas, Texas.                      

Throughout his career, Mr. Joshua Rosenbaum has performed with a diverse array of ensembles, enriching his expertise across various musical genres, including jazz, rock, contemporary, and classical. His versatility is showcased through his performances on bass guitar in a rock band, viola in a string quartet, guitar in a jazz band, and horn across all these styles. He had the honor of performing with Javier Colon, the winner of the inaugural season of the hit singing competition show, The Voice.

Most recently, Rosenbaum has been performing across Israel, primarily as the second horn with the Israel Chamber Orchestra, but also with esteemed ensembles such as the Israeli Opera Orchestra, Israel Symphony Rishon LeZion, Israel Sinfonietta Be’er Sheva, and the Galilee Chamber Orchestra, among others throughout Israel and the greater New England area of the USA. In the summer of 2019, Rosenbaum performed with the Grammy-nominated National Orchestral Institute, collaborating with renowned conductors like John Morris Russell, Ward Stare, Michael Stern, and David Alan Miller. During this time, he recorded a CD with the Naxos Record Label, which was later nominated for a Grammy in 2021.

Rosenbaum's musical journey has taken him to numerous cities across the United States and Middle East. He has performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Meyerson Symphony Center, Winspear Opera House, Universal Studios, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and aboard the retired battleship USS Midway. His performances span states including Texas, Tennessee, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Colorado, Maryland, New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Mr. Joshua Rosenbaum has also guided students to success in various prestigious ensembles across Texas and New Mexico, including the TMEA 6A All-State Concert Band and Symphonic Band, as well as the Southwest Honor Band in Las Cruces, NM. Additionally, former students have gotten into or studied at some of the top music schools in the United States.

Joshua Rosenbaum is a former student of Michael Slatkin (Assistant Principal Horn, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra), David Heyde (Associate Principal Horn, Dallas Symphony Orchestra), Haley Hoops (Second Horn, Dallas Symphony Orchestra), and Gregory Hustis (retired Principal Horn, Dallas Symphony Orchestra) of whom he studied with at the Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas, Texas.  Mr. Rosenbaum also had the opportunity to study briefly with Daniel Katzen (retired Second Horn of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), and is a current student of William VerMeulen.

In addition to formal study and private lesson studies with his current and former horn teachers, Mr. Rosenbaum also attended the 47th and 48th International Horn Symposiums in LA and Ithaca.  Rosenbaum has had the opportunity to play for and sit in on lectures and masterclasses with some of the worlds leading horn players such as Dale Clevenger, Gail Williams, William VerMeulen, Stefan Dohr, Philip Myers, Jeff Nelson, Eric Ruske, and Gregory Miller.


Joshua Rosenbaum recently completed his Master of Music in Performance, studying under John Michael Flavetta (Assistant Principal Horn, Hartford Symphony Orchestra). Now residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Rosenbaum is an active teacher and performer.
